The sequence of bikes from the mid 80s.....for me - how about for you?

I went for an Emmelle Cortina which was sold to me waaaay to big, even at 6’3 but it had alloy rims so I got a Bromwich Cyclone and transferred everything over. Went like a rocket. Top recorded speed 51mph off road at Kielder Forest and 65 down the Pyrenees on tarmac.
like most of them it got stolen. But it did have chrome drop outs if anyone finds one for sale. 60CC0442-8C0A-42B2-AC74-6F669173564C.jpeg

I'd love to find another Bromwich in my size, more than thirty years after buying my first. Picked up one a couple of years ago but had to accept that it was too small

1987 Jamis Durango
1989 Cannondale SM500
1991 Muddy Fox Alu Pro
2000 Trek 6700
2008 Salsa Ala Carte

Still own the Jamis and Salsa.

Recently built up a 1986 Cannondale SM600 that I've been riding nowdays and was in the September 2020 BOTM.

Mostly ride road and trails (gravel) since 2000.

"I like steel bikes and I cannot lie"

Of all those bikes the Boardman was probably the best value, I think it cost me about £450 new reduced from about £850 in one of Halfords insane end of season sales. Was high spec for the price and rekindled my love of cycling. Most of the parts went onto the Cotic that replaced it, and when the time came the parts sold for more than I paid for the bike.
