Feature Bike
Okay ...
Early Days
1981 Raleigh Grifter. OG.
1983 ish - I invent mountain biking by turning a 26" boys road bike into an off roader (including novel extra rear brake operated by a foot lever on the chainstay ....)
1987? First production MTB I rode - a friend's yellow *I think* Muddy Fox with 15 gears - Was blown away by the granny gear and cantilvers.
1988 Team Stumpjumper. Bought it in 89 from an MBUK classifieds - rode it round Europe and SE Asia. Still got it. Prise from my cold dead grip, etc
Discovered RetroBike c. 2006 or 2007...
1985 Fuji Mt Fuji Ltd. Full XC, Nitto, double rollercam: imported from the States (pound was strong back then). Sold it to someone on here - want it back please.
1984/5 Ridgeback badged as a Klein Partsbike.
1989 Roberts Peugeot Tim Gould team bike. Stunning but too small. So cool. Miss it.
1989 Overburys Pioneer in Columbus. A bit sluggish - didn't get on together.
1988 Ronson Fillet brazed: never really got off the ground - ended up in Germany.
1987? Kuwahara lugged. Still got it: various members of the family have used it.
1989 Rocky Mountain Blizzard. Hardly used before selling for some reason (cash crisis?)
1987 Canondale double 24" : used by various family members: in the shed somewhere.
1996 Brodie Energy: small and sweet for the kids - just reprised for son # 2
199? KHS Montana - old frame Karma'd to me (by lewis1641?) and turned into a singlespeed. Much fun.
1987? MBK Tracker with lovely inexternal brazed Columbus nivacrom frame (not the later gussety sort). Regrettably also a bit small.
1987 Canondale double roller cam. First drop bar build.
1990 KHS Pro. Such good bikes - turned me on to True Temper OX.
1988 Marin Pine Mountain Lugged Prestige. Current camping bike in Ritchey Commando drag.
1985 Overburys Wildcat? Small fillet bike with no serial no. (just like my Powell Roadbike: reckon he was often off the books in the early mid 80's) Will my youngest grow out of it before I've finished it?
1992 AlpineStars Cro Mega True Temper. Loving it.
