40, already!, blimey :? Anyway, got my first MTB at 13 in summer of '87, I remember buying a new magazine about Mountain biking, MBUK, £1.35 I think it was, simple happy days! :D

thanks for the poll; suspect the 35-45 may average towards the top and 45-55 towards the bottom ??

so most people on here have a thing for the bikes that were "new" ie '88-98 ish as they were in their teens and early 20s

does that really surprise anyone ?

Its not really about the age, its just a general interest.

Its nothing serious dude, lighten up

O dear - 53 yesterday. Still in shock. First bike I recall was a wee red thing with white stabilisers! Early off roading involved falling off whatever bike we had, mainly bog standard "postie" type bikes with Sturmey Archer 3-speeds. Much scrounging from local dumps was involved as we were always buckling wheels and such. Now I scrounge around ebay. I suppose that's progress :?

45.

My bike history is Raleigh Golden Arrow when i was 4, got a scar on my chin from stitches when I tried to jump my first kerb. Then Raleigh Tomahawk formula 3, Grifter, Burner then Mongoose in 1984. Got my first MTB in 1992 as I became a father in 1990 so missed the early years.
Got back into OS BMX in 2004 and retro MTB in 2010. I love all bikes and love riding them.
