Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

38, started out in BMX, then got (what I thought was) an awesome Apollo Blizzard which very soon after fell apart, followed by a Peugeot Alpina (weapons grade dog sh*t), then the one that started the absolute obsession...enter, the fabulous, 1989 Diamond Back Ascent. From the early '90s I was buying top end parts (like a £245 Ibis ti stem when earning £90 a week, now you understand when I said obsession) and finished my ultimate Attitude in '97. Since being introduced to this site only a year ago, I've spent an obscene amount of money on parts I'll never use and it shows no signs of slowing down...just don't tell the Mrs :D

240 posts in a year? That's almost 2 every three days. How do you find the time? ;)

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

60, started off-road biking when I was a teenager in the '60's. We didn't know it would be called mountain biking later on.
Treaded tyres, single speed, fixed wheel, steel riser type bars turned upside down.
Bought my 1st MTB in 1989 for the long walk ins while Munro-bagging.
Since then have built all my bikes, my wife's and 2 daughters' bikes by buying all the bits off here or ebay or shop bargains.
