Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

42 this month , although parts of me are only 3 !
Raleigh Grifter to a 89 Bear Valley, after a while I realised that my level of skill and bravado were nothing compared to the force of gravity !

32yrs and 347 days.....

Had a Raleigh burner as a kid, first MTB was at around 9yrs then then got a Univega Alpina 502 in 94 which I fitted a set of Ballistic shocks to before it got nicked while I was in getting my papers!!! Used the insurance money to purchase a Univega Alpina 506 that I still have to this day and used everyday until I pased my driving test.....
Decided to get back on the bike and stumbled upon this site and my bank account has never fully recovered!

Tony....

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

I'm going to regret this,but 64.

First MTB a Ridgeback 501 in 1983(?),second a Clockwork in 1989/90,very swiftly changed for an Orange Prestige a year or so later. This was turned into a road bike,so in 1992 it was joined by a Cannondale Beast for off road duties. This lasted a long time until it was replaced by a s/h Marin East Peak full susser in 2002 and then this in turn was replaced by a 2004 Specialized Enduro.

I got my first bike when I was 13 (a Claud Butler Velo Capital road bike) and I can honestly say that I have cycled every year since then.I have a thirteen year old boy who is going down the same path, except that he started when he was 3 years old.Between us we currently own ten bikes.

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

I'm 35, raced BMX in the 80's. Stopped riding bikes when I was 8, in 86, and started again 5 years later in 91, this time on MTBs. Riding dwindled from 97-2000 but then started again in 2011.

Was I influenced by MBUK? Yes I was

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

36, got into serious mtb in 93 when I went to 6th form and made friends with a guy who had a dyna tech diablo dx. Learned on cheap Raleigh's til I bought an orange in 96. :D

So has anyone worked out the average age of all of us?
