Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

How do I work out my average age?

How old I feel each day divided by how old I am plus the number of times I forget why I went somewhere for something I can't remember where I left or see a childlike figure doing an important job or have to make a plan before picking something up from the floor or need the second pair of glasses at the same time as my regular ones but can't find them.

I'm 47 you know!

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

I've just turned 46

Road riding from'90
Mtbing from '97

Wasn't aware of the MBUK thing as I was a roadie , but from what I can gather from this forum , it seems to have influenced a lot of peoples tastes and (maybe) mtb snobbiness ?

Matt70 , is that avatar Suffolk or Arenberg ?

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

Same numer of teeth growth rings as the History Man.

Started Skateboarding in 1977, First tried a borrowed import BMX in 1978, Road Biking in 1979 and Mountainbiking in 1987. First off roading on a Chopper on Hampstead Heath in 1975  Endo'd and destroyed my Grifter jumping a ditch a few years later. Sadly now I don't have enough time to ride my toys

I have joined the arthritis club too :| Lots of impact sports bitd has taken its toll. Great to see so many children of 1966 on here :D

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

son of a gun I'm 41, seen a bit come and go, tried a few things, rocked a few trends, lost too many friends.
My knees don't work as well as they used to cos I rode a bit too rough. Older and quieter and awaiting surgery I hope to remain in the cruiser class till I'm old and grey, 1986 all the way.

my first proper bike (not my photo though)

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

36

Bought my first bike in ´92. Earned the money picking strawberries. Good memories.

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

Too young to grow up and too old to heal quickly when something goes tits up !
47 and still going strong (after I've got all the knackered joints working every morning ).
Drjo I've had an arthroscapy on both knees and it works a treat so don't worry about it , the recurring prolapsing disc is slowing things down a bit at the mo though but what the hell I'm reccying Guisburn tomorrow re our ride at the end of the month :D

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

Hi Mike,

it's arenberg. took it from the bridge in 2011, just before being told to move along in no uncertain terms by the french constabulary.

Re: The RetroBike average age thread.

I'm 43 feeling like going on 72. Got into mountain bikes in the late 80s and from them got into road bikes.

Now it is safe to say it has swung the other way and I very rarely get muddy.
