It's a problem when "poor" becomes fashionable. Fashion means expensive. Poor becomes costly.I like Radavist as well but hate their hipster ratty bullshit
I've no objection to the hippie shite were it genuinely old bits done up and painted a bit bold, or doing frankenstein bits using a selection of obsolete componentry, but a lot of it is overly expensive bling on old bikes and eventually it leads to brands such as Crust pushing run of the mill stuff at incredibly high price points just because it feeds the fad
Yeah, they've commercialised rat builds and made it seem like it's some sort of revelation to the bike world. Sure, I love an old bike with plenty of bits from the stash, with some bold colour choices for a laugh and perhaps some cheap Asian ano stuff from Big Ali to spruce things up, but folks dipping into their nest funds for a mediocre vintage looking frame with mediocre boutique stuff (which all of the boutique stuff really is) doesn't sit well with me. Usability should always come first.Hippy making do with old bits is cool but I can't stand them making out like they, and their contacts, are somehow super special and breaking new ground in doing it. The american saying, "high on their own f@rts" fits so well with Radavist.
