Is it just me or are people asking silly money for crap bikes ?
If you’re referring to the Bianchi - it was silly money considering the repair. But it depends on whether the weld makes it a crap bike.

Re: Sunn Exact Comp - value?

Hi, just finishing up building this bike and I wondered if anyone can help with a rough idea of how to price it for sale? It’s in very good condition - the yellow powder coat has very few light marks on it. Medium frame - 17.5”. It has a full Deore LX group, Rock Shox Psylo forks and Ritchey Rock Comp rims. Just waiting for a front derailleur to come up for sensible money and it’ll have the full 21 gears..

I'd put around £150/160 on the Sunn ~ it looks cool and there are some nice parts on there. Steel framed, turn of the century period at a guess? It would be useful to know what it was before the respray......obviously and higher end Exact or Revolt would be worth more than a low end Tox or Vertik.

Re:

Cheers for the input, yes it’s a 1998 Exact Comp - I can’t find much info online as to where this model fell in the line up of the Sunn brand. There’s a frame only on eBay atm and that’s priced at £699.. that’s perhaps a tad optimistic I’d imagine.. it is a very light bike though - Columbus tubing and Ritchey dropouts. I’d have thought it’d be more than £150 - it seems pretty close in weight and geo to my early 90’s Explosif? I’ve taken the suspension forks off since the last post as they were too long and gone to a decent set of rigid forks I’ve painted black, front derailleur is now on its way too.

Ah, nice...Exact was top end. Maybe revise my guesstimate up towards the £200ish then. :)
An original coloured and decal’d frame would be quite higher I think

Agreed, Ibbz....respraying nearly always devalues. Unless it's high quality repro of original with replacement decals. In original trim a good Exact would fetch a lot more.

Yes I’ve noticed that even if this were patina’d with original battle scars it would still be worth more.
100% agree - I think only a complete exact reproduction restoration would give a frame its optimal value and desirability - in terms of respray (of course original would be more)

My friend is looking to sell his Specialized S Works. It appears to have had a load of updates at some point:

S Works M5 frame
Deemax wheels
Hope 2 pot brakes - unsure of model?
Rockshox Reba fork with carbon crown
XT drivetrain
Thomson post
Hope headset
Hope skewers

I thought around £500? Or worth more in parts?
