So some of you may have seen my old 1950's Claud Butler Coronation which I am restoring. I had to postpone this project whilst I've had to go back to uni to build our Formula Student racing car.
During the car build, my little commuter bike got covered in carbon fibre dust and all sorts of other shite so I started with wanting to clean it up a bit. This snowballed until I began seeing how good a finish I could get on some of the parts using the kit we have at the uni workshop.
I'll start with a pic of the bike before it got stripped!
It's a 1970's or 1980's Claud Butler. No idea on model or anything other than having a stab at how old it is and looking at the kit on it! Any help? Pretty sure it's Holdsworth era.
Cranks pre-polishing
After mirror polishing half of it!
It's a really bad pic but the brakes came out amazing!
There's a ton of other stuff to be mirror polished which will happen after we finish the car build, as well as a respray and new cables.
So I'll leave with a pic of the other pride and joy! It's not strictly a bike, certainly isn't a bicycle but it does have a bike engine! (We've not finished the nosecone yet!)
