Go easy on me. I have very little hi-fi knowledge! These came into my possession recently. A quick google suggests they were pretty decent in their day? Tempted to put them back in use. Celestion SL6;
For sale: Rega Planar 3 TT for sale, including BNIB AT110E Cartridge-currently fitted is an Ortofon 510 Mark II. £200. Collection in Notts. Will post some pics shortly.
Very nice, quite a classic of its time but I bet will still sound good now. How did you acquire them?
I don't have any experience of them but this article covers their history and technical details. Assuming it is correct, you will be ok as long as you have a reasonably powerful amp to overcome their inefficiency and that you don't want extreme bass. A good point is that, due to the infinite-baffle design (i.e. they're a sealed box, no ports), you can put them up against a wall and they will (should) be ok
That zstereo site has some good articles about real classic pieces of hifi and is an enjoyable read.
Having a clear out of stuff and have this barely used (been in its box for years) Nakamichi CR-1E cassette player mint in its box. No clue on value, maybe @legrandefromage can help?
Powers up with its green lights and plays perfectly.
Also have this old boombox!
Sharp GF-9191 in lovely cosmetic condition for its age, around 1978, missing an antenna though. Plays radio and cassette. Lovely tone. Does play tapes as i rebuilt it years ago with new belts and pinch rollers etc and still plays, although was a little squeaky at first when powered up today! A lovely thing that I can’t find (not allowed) a place for in the house unfortunately. Would love someone local to pick it up as it’s a heavy lump and I don’t have a box, but could probably sort something if pushed. These seem to be around £150/£300 on eBay so let’s say around £100…?
