Sounds a bit like myself :)

Ha!

Apache would explain it better - theres a crossover period where transistor amps went from being weedy to very powerful with the sound quality improving as well. This is right on the cusp so could sound pretty warm and bloated or bang on the money with a well sorted digital source

I would love to have a bang on that number!

I'm trying to work out if there's any sexual overtones to that.

But just in case, here's the obligatory "Oooh. Suits you, sir!"

Re: The *NOT BORING!* Hi-Fi faff and sales thread

Anyone here interested in taking on this Origin Live (ULTRA?) deck of mine that's rather too delicate to have around my four year old's prying fingers! There's not much I can tell you as the second owner - pretty sure it's a kit-made example - but well-done. It comes sans Rega arm but has the external power supply and electronic switching. A tweakers delight I'm sure!

No idea of value so straighten me out if I'm hugely wrong in either direction please! Asking £145 collected from south Manchester (can meet within reason).

I have one and have wanted one for years.

If theres any scratches or paint missing, haggle like mad - I can repaint it for you

Can be prone to transformer buzz - check carefully

£250 - £350 price range if tidy.

They are seemingly bottomless amplifiers. They will just keep going louder as long as you or your speakers can stand it.
