not masses. But it uses 10/11 speed spacing to produce a much narrower 7 speed cassette, which means the hub flanges can be further out, reducing the amount of dish (sometimes they can be dishless) and making the wheel stronger

Now that is a step in the right direction and makes perfectly good sense so if they could manage an 8 speed setup aimed at XC mountain biking that would still allow a dishless wheel to be made then surely that would be a good thing for a variety of mtb enthusiasts ..

Up and down, back and forth :roll:. Theres only so far you can take a bicycle and its components.
All 2 on the front or 1 on the front but give them another 3 or so years and it will be back at 3 on the front, with laughter on those still using 2.

Nope ! not really just the bike industry heading back to the old threaded bb idea which of course will be classed as a new innovation if they stick with the splined axle crank arm fitting :facepalm: and yes all my bikes run square taper as it's just to good not too ..
