the most frustrating thing about retro bikes

I don't find them frustrating at all as I'm not a parts perfectionist, I don't care if mine get scratched and I have all the necessary tools - unlike modern bikes where I'd be stuffed

Trying to find period correct parts in good condition for a reasonable price. That's why most of my builds use modern parts built up in a retro style.

As mainly buying type of guy: upgoing prices?

Part of the reason why I not seriously browse on MTBs anymore.

Square taper cranks and brakes that don't work!

This bit only frustrates me because Baker, Gould, Tomac, Overend etc. went way faster on what was - compared to modern rigs - a bedstead, than I ever could on a top end tricked out dream machine!

The bits and bobs that were horded in my bike shed in 1992 un loved or not needed, that i no longer have and indeed would now pay good money for if i could find them fro sale anywhere. Yesterdays junk is todays treasure!
