The 'Introduce Yourself Here' thread II

Hi All
Been riding MTB's since Raleigh introduced the Maverick (ok not a real MTB), and then saving up for Vector Bars and all other bits and bobs for it.

Now have a 1998 / 99 Klein Pulse as I have always wanted a Klein and my MTB bike buying seems have stopped with that, though all that is left of the original bike is the frame, seat post and stem.

I would love another Klein frame to make a fully rigid single speeder from but I'm not rushing into things.

Oh and when the Klein finally cracks I'm up for a Pace RC Frameset...

Another Newbie

Hi All

Thought I'd better get around to posting and introducing myself.

Been into MTBs since the late '80s, when I used to work in a bike shop to fund my way through art college (guess that officially makes me old then). First mountain?? bike was a Falcon Sherpa (circa 1986), nothing teaches you to go fast down hill in the wet like a bike with chromed steel rims.

A GT Tequesta started my love affair with GTs but I was seduced by a sweet Canadian thing in 1992 (Rocky Mountain Team Comp), She's still with me after all these years though she's certainly looking her age. A brief flirt with a shiny new Kinesis Alu frame in the late 90s sidelined the poor Canadian until more recently when I stumbled upon the retro search facility on ebay. One Karakoram, an Avalanche and a Xizang later and I guess I'd have to accept that I've regressed.

In spite of moving with the times (Giant NRS) I can honestly say that if I just want to ride for myself I always end up reaching for the old girls.

I'll try and post some pics (new to all this so they might end up somewhere else)

Hello :D Crayons - Gil_m on this site should be able to help with the stickers for your frame :D

Hi, thought I'd better introduce myself as I've been looking at this fab forum for a while and not posted anything. Its a goldmine!

I ride a 95 model GT RTS2 which I bought new whilst on holiday in California, at Buena Cycles in Anaheim Ca.
Brought it home with my holiday baggage (thank you Virgin Atlantic) and have just pottered around the local scenery on it since.
It's totally original except the innertubes! It's a bit dated now, like the owner, but I will keep this bike forever.

I've just built a MountainCycles San Andreas using a mix of ebay and new parts. Its a bit bouncy compared to the RTS but looks awesome.

Thank you people for a great forum.

Hello all,

Earlier this year I almost sold my '94 DBR dual response on ebay, fortunately the bicycle gods intervened and my listing was removed for dodgy wording.
I then realized how much I love this bike and decided to keep and restore it.

I bought it 2nd hand back in 1996 and immediately threw away the standard Marzocchi xc400's (daft move) and painted the rear swingarm to match the new manitous i bought for the front.
I am in the process of undoing all the damage and have some lovely Marzocchi DH3's ready to go on the front and some nice 7 speed kit to go back on.

If anyone can help me with finding an original curved Zoom seatpost I will be eternally grateful.

Cheers, Gray
