The "I'm not doing so well" thread

Sometimes its just the little things.

My ipod is dropping tracks, just as you get into an album, that vital mood lifter is missing, instantly transforming a nice afternoon into a Tasmanian devil whirlwind of finding discs and cables only to have completely lost the mood

Went for a job interview, kinda knew I didnt get the job once the MD had come in, but to be told I have 'not enough industry experience' was a real stingy smack in the chops - that has burnt more than anything I've had before.

The lack of daylight

Crunchy knees - was all set up for a ride out and the left knee felt like it had been hit with a hammer

Local Ozrics gig sold out...

:(

Should imagine if you sat outside you would still be able to hear it fine :)

Chris.I bought your breezer mate. Remember the old couple in the car park in the forest. Im 75 this year and still riding. come on man. Get a grip.I might last another year or so but you have a lifetime left.Dont get to the other end and think You wasted it. You only come this way once and you are not coming back so grab it with both hands and enjoy it( or you could just force yourself to go for a ride ) Now got arthritus in both knees but they are injecting them to kill the pain. Does not matter that I am no longer a racing snake. I am still riding and thats what matters
Best wishes
Peter

Ah can see the time stamp - 2:50 - when I have had low patches, sleep really suffers and then a horrible vicious cycle kicks in. It’s pretty horrible when my head is bad enough to make my body start misbehaving. Really frustrating. I find that ‘just getting one thing started’ is enough to get me on the right path again - a skilled joiner friend once said ‘most jobs are huge and complex…just start somwhere….as long as you are working on it, things will get done….’. I think of that and use it often. Last week I set out to clear 300m of cycle path outside cambridge - really huge job, since it was very overgrown. My partner said ‘I’ll come and help’ which I sensed could be trouble. After an hour she was very tetchy and said ‘this is just too big a job…look how much is left…why are you doing it…stop now…’. I encouraged her to go home, which she did. And indeed it was huge. But I could see each metre I cleared was better, that if I plodded on it would get done. Every time I clipped a branch i was closer to completion even if there were huge tangles of bramble and tree. Three hours later….done. It’s like when I am going up an Alp…how do you get to the objective? By putting one foot in front of the other….

hang on in there and just start up the hill if you can…
