Re:

After a few discussions looking to make this a spring 2016 event, to avoid the pitfalls of peak season. Also to allow one or two of the interested parties time to get familiar with the requirements.

Also it will need four days ideally, so a long weekend required at least!

Please register firm interest, and I am flexible to do a recce run around the original schedule.

For anyone uninitiated, kayaking is the perfect compliment to cycling for overall fitness.

I can lend a couple of kayaks to anyone wishing to train up over the next winter.

I even have 'retro' kayaks available!

If you want to do it in the original timescale feel free to register interest, and we will have at it! With a smaller group it will be one way down and one way back. I can't really apologize for being keen!

Up and down, seems simple enough. I was aware after a particular member posted that it might be better to delay it. I am up for an early run if you want to get involved. It is not as easy as it sounds, as you may know! I did not want it restricted to experienced paddlers.

Re:

You glibly say "up and down, seems simple enough" but what do you actually intend the participants do?

Paddle one way and return by bike? In 4 days? Or 2 teams as you also suggested starting from different ends, in a race with bikes and/or canoes? Both ways, also 4 days?

No messing up intended on my part but a realistic appraisal of what you are talking about would be good and sensible.

..and could your queries be dealt with by other means?

Glibly????

I have spent half my life on challenging water and adverse bike terrain.

No wonder this site is shrinking.

Re:

What other means do you propose? PM? Surely it's better to answer my queries here where others who have no experience of what you want to get them involved in can read them for themselves.

I used glibly because Loch Ness is a long, exposed and serious stretch of water that will require experience and careful planning and you just said up and down, seems simple enough. It's not.

I too have spent a lot of my life whitewater racing, slalom, and running big water so let's not get into a pissing contest as that is rather childish, is it not?
