The truth is, I liked this theme and these projects.
So I started looking for some Wolber rims for my Avoriaz tubulars and found a Mavic Paris-Gao-Dakar front hub
Fortune smiled on me and a rear hub also appeared with 36 holes and NOS Paris-Gao-Dakar.
Ok, they are not the same color, but there will be time to anodize and solve this problem. I have also been able to save the original decal to replicate it

The largest rear sprocket is affected by the derailleur parallelogram angle, which is usually the same, short, med or long cage.

The total capacity (i.e. big+big minus small+small) is what the cage length dictates.

Assuming the derailleur model accepts a 32 rear sprocket, slightly closer sprocket sizes on the front would reduce the required capacity.
I can't see which derailleur you are using, but a sachs quartz will do 32 max on all cage lengths.

You could use aerothan thermoplastic tubes from schwalbe, save over 100g on both wheels.
They are more reliable than latex, but seem more prone to puncture.
I can't get more than 28, the top pulley brutally touches the largest ring gear if I put more than 30 teeth.
Not even adjusting the screw to the maximum
Furthermore, if I tighten that screw more it is excessively forced and far from the rest of the crowns, changing poorly.
But I don't care, at the time I used an 11/25 (a modified Dura Ace) and I currently use 11/28 on several bikes (the advantages of using 3 chainrings)
In fact, on my Element SC I wear an 11/28 with a 20-tooth chainring to have a little more development.

I have solved the inner tubes with some 94 gr Continental Supersonic. You have to give them air more often, but they last longer than the latex ones and if they puncture they can be repaired with the conventional system. I like them because they are more practical
