Tech Wildthing 199x - The silver beast of the North - Mountain cruiser

Can i ask what are your experiences on riding the Wildthing?
I mentioned previously, just like Prodigal Son did, that i bet it offers more riding comfort than the Surly. Which bike do you choose when you go off somewhere?

It rides well, I enjoy it. It's a bit lighter than the Surly's which makes it great for commuting. Off-road it's a fun ride, but the fact that it's lighter makes it bit less compliant with the terrain, it cannot handle bumps and roots as well as my Surly's can. Alongside my KM it's the main ride at the moment. :)

Interesting. Yes, weight matters mostly uphill, and at accelerating, so in a relatively flat country it is not so important, just like gears.. anyway Surlys are goddam well built frames, a bit more modern geo than the Wildthing.
