Team Proflex NI !!!

Hi Folks,

1st time posting on here, thought I'd upload a few pics of our stable of Proflex MTB's. We've a '97 Animal, a '97 857 and (just completed this morning) a '97 Beast!! Maybe not all original as out of factory, but hey, better they're out being used!! Still turn a lot of heads to this day!! Also have an Attack frame for build, just the front half of it, nothing else unfortunately. Think it's maybe around '94 or '95, it's green in colour with yellow decals, can't tell you much more than that. If anyone knows anything about this bike, or where I could get parts to build it, please send me a message, I'd really appreciate it.

Enjoy the pics - let me know any of your thoughts or comments regarding them.

Take care,

Stephen

Team Proflex NI

Some nice bikes there. . The beast thats the black one looks good , sorry but could the anmial do with a clean ?

Clean???

Clean the Animal?? Sure it keeps the stone chips down - a good layer of dirt!! :D Wouldn't want people to think the bike hangs up in the garage all the time!!

Nice selection. The 857 is either an 856, or else it's had an 856 swingarm bolted on; 857's have a carbon swingarm as standard.
Actually, did you swap swingarms with the Beast?

I would guess 857 and Animal have swapped swingarms. They are interchangeable. Beast also has been given a carbon swingarm at some point, too, as they were the aluminium one as standard.

Hi Guys,

You're quite right, 857 and Animal have swapped swingarms - the Animal was completed first a few years back for me to ride, me not being of a ... slim nature!!, decided to put the carbon swingarm on the Animal to reduce the weight - for all the difference a few grammes would make for a fat git like me!! The 857 was then completed next, actually for my wife's son, who was tormenting me to get the Animal off me (there was no chance!!). He has been strictly instructed that if he ever sells the 857 without me getting first refusal, his room will be rented out and he'll be on the street!! I've had the Beast frame for a few years now, got it off eBay and have been gathering up bits for it for a good while now. It's been lying at my mate's house for the last year I'm sure - he took the head staggers yesterday and decided to finish it - I think he did a good job!! All I have now is the Attack frame I mentioned in my first post, sadly I've been unable to source any parts for it, I can't even find the original spec for it, so if anyone can help me with any aspect of this frame, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your comments,

Best regards,

Stephen

Nice little collection of Proflex's there :)
And welcome to RB too. My usual stomping ground is up in Woodburn forest. I'm surprised I've never seen a Proflex up there now I know how many there are in the vicinity ;)

Thanks for the pointers guys, looking at BikePedia it would appear that my Attack frame is actually a '97, noy a '94 or '95 as I first thought! There's a photo on the website which shows it built - looks very well

Thanks again,

Stephen
