Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, my brother gave me this bike but I'm unsure what to do with this. Is it worth anything? it's no use to me as I'm into more modern bikes, is it worth selling as it's in bad condition?

It’s worth a bit but probably not much as you said it’s in bad condition. Can’t really give an exact figure.

I’d be interested in it for restoration depending on where you are.

Seems some of the parts I can see are unoriginal as well..

Like above, a picture of the full bike would help with valuation. I should imagine it would look a lot better with a bit of a clean too.

They are great frames and sell quite well.

Mine was far far worse than that. Brilliant frame, tange prestige ultrastrong, same as the team issue...ride lovely.

Spot on original.....except that front mech.

Looks like you have the original sakae titanium bars too. Those are £40 easily on their own (i know i sold 2 pairs last year)

If the bottom bracket is ok...there's another £40 as its a xtr m900 if original.

A frame and fork salvageable but poor cosmetic....£90, reasonable £120, good...well what somebody will pay, but £160 +

Then there's still the origins xt cantilevers and brifters too.!

But you will need to get it to bits and get into the bottom bracket etc, as you never know what's lurking!

It takes an iron will to take on the unknown and that will reflect in the price!

I would say the frame is rather more dirty than corroded. which is a blessing, because the grime serves as a rust protection. I once rebuilt a bear valley which I almost did not buy because of the looks. It was almost spotless once I removed all the dirt…
