I recently had to sell off one of my vintage Italian bikes, which went to a buyer in Sweden.
I put about 800 quid into it, and then another hundred on refinishing the chrome on the forks.
All in, in this very depressing market, I 'lost' about 300. Previously I could readily break even on a build, and this was sufficient for me.
I know there are forum members selling up and moving on all the time, but what's the biggest haircut you've taken on a bike restoration?
