Surface Shipping-Ideas

This may or may not be in the right area, but...

I need some ideas as far as economical shipping from the US to AUS, specifically a framebox. The US Postal Service eliminated surface shipping last year, so air freight is the only method the major carriers use, which of course is running 370USD across the board. Anyone have experience with freight carriers? The problem I'm running into is a 150lb minimum for orders. Any help would be appreciated.

Crazy quote! I had USPS air freight a frame for about $50-60 a month ago...is it that much more from the US to Oz?

the big thing with me shipping to australia is the restrictions as far as dimensions. there is just no way i can box this thing without exceeding the length+girth cutoff point. you are right though, it is cheaper so ship to the uk, the length+girth cutoff is 108 inches, vs 79 inches for oz...keep any ideas coming, though.
