Sup’s GT Avalanche 12.5” Build

From what I’ve learned here, GT did make a 12.5 Zaskar. They are few and far between. I assume the the general telltale indicators are true of the 12.5’s; serial number is on the rear dropout, no letters in the serial number, flat cap on the rear of the top tube. That’s a fantastic score if it a 12.5 Zaskar.
I can confirm all what u just said suprachrgd82

This looks quite different, to me even better as in 2023 https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/sup’s-gt-avalanche-12-5”-build.458911/post-3393178
Especially real fat tires (in sense of an 90ties MTB) make this much cooler than before.
Is that also a different fork? Another new or at least partial new paint job? I would be interested to see more details.
It is the same bike as pictured in previous posts, although the photo resolution is low. I change the tires based on where we ride. For long street rides we use the Michelin Protek and for dirt rides we use the Bontrager knobbies.

The fork is a GT bologna. As my son grows (in both weight and height) I'll eventually replace it with a suspension fork. Likely an air sprung Bomber.

ah, I got it, just looked to me from the picture like the headtube and front of the frame is now uni black.
Still think with the earlier small tires it rather looked like a BMX race bike, now like an MTB

Makes sense, depending on riding style.
BTW: we do have also a 12.5 GT in the family used from my 11 year old
