Suntour Superbe Derailleur Limit Screws: Thread Spec?

Screw 5 engages the dropout to help set the angle of the pantograph iirc. Are you using the mech on a genuine suntour dropout?

Re:

The frame features a Campagnolo What is the thread spec of a Suntour Superbe (Pro) RD-5200 (5300) derailleur limit screw (5, 6)?

Looking to replace the B-screw (5).

The original B-screw is just a little too short to be effective on that frame. I tried one of the hi-lo limit screws that are the same type just a few mm longer and that one works fine.

So, I was thinking of getting a long enough screw of that type. Should be M4 with a certain fine thread. Just would like to know what type of thread that is to check where I can get this.

Related, my suntour b-screw is bent but I think it's as you say, an M4 fine thread. I've had little luck in finding a replacement so I was going to tap it to M4 coarse.

Strictly the suntour mechanism is not designed for a Campag dropout and it's a bit hit and miss....

I don't have a thread gauge to measure it with but I was assuming its a fine varient of the standard M4.

What's the difference between campag and suntour compatible drop outs? I'm sure this bike had this RD from new and it shifts OK.

For sure it’s M4. Just would like to know the specific fine thread type…

Fine thread pitch is 0.5 which should be marked on a Tap so you can chase the threads in your rear mech..

Re:

Along 0.5 there are further metric fine thread types: 0.20, 0.25, 0.35. Also, there are non-metric types.

Sure, if I could get access to fine thread taps then I could find out.
