Suntour Accushift Chain Recommendation Please.

It has taken a long time but I finally have a "new" SR chainset to go with the nos Accushift 6 speed block on my old British Eagle so now I just need a chain. I know there was originally a specially designed Suntour chain but even if I could find one it would probably be expensive so can anyone recommend a suitable, sensibly priced modern alternative?

Sorry, failed to get the photo to work in the first post, not very exciting I'm sure but represents the successful conclusion of a very long search by me!

I thought the 6 speed Accushift system used an ordainary chain and not the thinner "Ultra" chains........

Well, I suspect that some will work more perfectly than others. As I understand it, one of the things which killed Suntour was they introduced indexing they did not insist on manufacturers fitting complete systems. The mix and match approach meant that some worked well and some didn't, the result being a reputation for unreliable shifting.

If you want to worry, given most are now design for indexing ramps and stuff, then get SRAM.
The reason being ius Suntour use Sachs/Sedisport chains, SRAM bought them. So they are the descendent of the chains used.

If you want period then you could try http://www.hilarystone.com/chains.html

But given I think the six speed setup you have used a plain chain setup as it was pretty AP and the ramping then any 6 speed modern chain would be better than the original.

This is probably the closest one http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/chains?f=4294963471

But this is probably a smoother shifting chain http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/sram ... -prod20608
