Suitable bikes for Winter Commuting

On One Inbred a possibility maybe? There's a single speed version out there with rear entry dropouts.

Thanks for the suggestion Sam, had a look and while the dropouts are ideal for the conversion I don't think the frame geometry is quite right! I'm looking for something more along the lines of a large Rockhopper frame than a proper trail bike!

On another note, does anyone have any knowledge at all of that Raleigh Spirit I posted a link to? Signs point to it being a low spec frame but any info at all on the model would be greatly appreciated!

Late 80s Peugeots have horizontal dropouts and are decent steel frames, especially the ones made of 531. I intended to use one for my single speed build until I chanced upon a frame which had been converted to single speed dropouts.
