Great bike Chris, that is exactly the Stumpjumper I had BITD, beautiful very dark purple colour. I've said it before, but why are there not more of them around? I've got a Comp which I'm delighted with, same quality ride that feels just like coming home.
But you must have been distraught to see that seat tube, how on earth did the seller not notice? Sadly it sounds like repair and respray is so expensive it's for very special/meaningful frames only.
Anyway, if the seller has offered to refund then I guess no lasting damage has been done apart from the emotional rollercoaster you must have been on.
