Quite a few different methods depending on the part or damage. The Pauls levers were just brasso wadding. The Cranks were dipped in caustic cleaner,rubbed down with a wet brillo pad, some bigger scratches taken out with some fine emery(p1000) and a rotary sctcohbrite pad. The bulk of the polishing was done by a mop and compounds in a pillar drill, finishing with autosol and brasso wadding(either would do). Will finish all polished surfaces with chemical guys jetseal, which I've used on a frame before to great success.

It is very addictive, wait till you see the front end, may have to tone it down a bit. Best thing I done was to buy the mops and compounds, all in the cranks probably took me about 1 1/2 hrs.

I'm guessing its a 94 though have no confirmation. Theres a 94 in the serial number and the headtube is 1 1/8", will have to look into it a bit more but reckon the steel frames must have been on their way out at this point as the 94 catalogue shows M2's as well. Can't find the colour though in a catalogue.

The '94 still had a 1" steerer:

I agree the canti noodle makes it '96 at the latest, and one of the colour choices in '96 was "indigo":

But there was a "dark blue" in '95:

so maybe '94 production for the '95 model year.

Cheers OEJ, yeah reckon its one of those 2 but hard to tell between the paint fading a bit and the pics, might try to get my hands on a couple of brochures. That said 95 or 96 is close enough reckoning for me.

I have to agree those cranks are just awesome. Makes them look brand new. Shame my next project is going to have black cranks, or I would be tempted to give that a go.

Cheers guys, I was going to get the arms ano'd black but theres still a few surface blemishes that would show up and quite like them polished.
