I fitted modern di-comp U brakes instead of the period correct XT They worked well. depends if you want to keep period correct??
Don't know seat pin size

my rockhopper comp of the same year had a 27.2 seatpost, might not be the same though.

Yeah, pretty sure its an 88, but I will check my cats/Lit tonightas I have a pic of an 88 comp somewhere, if not it could be an 89.
The seatpost is 26.4mm for sure.
