Some very useful science there from the late lamented Sheldon, but one thing he didn't mention that I thought was a recommended last resort is to drill a hole horizontally through the post just above the insertion, the hole big enough to run a decent size long bolt through it so you can then use that to lever against the frame. If you clamp both ends of that bolt onto a workbench and turn the frame against it, that's the most leverage you're going to get.

Perhaps do that in conjunction with Sheldon's advice about aluminium shrinking more than steel at low temperatures - stick the frame in somebody's chest freezer if you can, then a freezing spray down the post, then maximum leverage. Sounds like good fun!

I cant do that because the top of the tube has broken off inside of the frame so there is nothing left to grip :S

heres a pic. not the clearest as my camera packed up so its a mobile shot but...

So it's not necessarily stuck then, you just can't get at it? I suppose it's too small to get a 1" quill stem inside it and pull it out with that, is it?

jesus!!! thats a bad 1

that looks like the same-ish frame as alkingsmil on the previous page!

i think you might have to go to a frame builder on that one, the seat clamp is in a right state. sounds like the previous owner made a right mess of it when they stuck the wrong post in.

Thats real bad fella :( could try the hacksaw method but I think it needs reaming out really by the looks of it, the clamp area looks pretty fu*k'd too.... might be an idea to get a quote from a frame builder, dont think a bike shop will tackle that..and unless its an expensive frame (specialized ? ) it may be worth cutting your losses fella.. but like I say get a quote.... good luck and keep us posted.. :) ;)
