Stuck in the 90s.....?

i'm stuck in welll pretty much a decade with a bit either side, 85-95.
Have a passion for sneakers from about 83-84 to 94, bikes from late 80's to mid 90's (can be upto maybe 99 at a stretch) and care from early 80's to mid 90's...

hence my HUGE pile of old style sneakers, my few old bikes and my 82 quattro that was replace (sadly) by my 95 wrx

I suppose I look at the early 90s with rose tinted specs as I was racing all the time, at school going into sixth form and starting to go out and discover new stuff. In honesty though was it that good?

I bet people that had their teenage years through the noughties will look back on it in the same way!

Well I’m glad I can confidently inform my wife that I am not the only one stuck in the past. I guess like Neil G commented it’s something to do with the teenage years.... work and worry seemed so far away. It really was all about MTBing, hanging out with your mates and discovering the good things (and bad things) about the opposite sex....... oh and making sure you were in for Byker Grove  .

Thanks for the positive comments on the picture... he’s a couple more. Thread to follow on my Dales. The purple/blue M800 is pretty mint; I have some Smokes to go on it for picture purposes only as they’re pretty shot, and my SM800 is currently in a rather sorry state but I have full intention of getting it as near brilliant as possible.

dont think its just a teenage years thing
i just enjoyed life a bit more in the 80's
things excited me , mostly motorbikes ,a lot of new stuff came out then
id buy mbuk /bike magazine ,etc and be enthused by the new models
coming out ,now still love my bikes but couldn't care about the new gsxr1000
its a bit like the new reg plates on the 1st of august ,it was good to see a H plate or so on ,now dunno what i'm even looking for in a reg plate
not really interested either

it just seems "they" have sucked most of the fun out of life

maybe its just me

My wife thinks I have issues. She thinks that some reason (maybe psychological) I keep sticking to the past; the past being specifically 1989 to 1994. So it’s got me thinking...... maybe I do have issues?!? I mean ‘Lovejoy’ is my favourite program, I actively play on my Super Nintendo, Rave is my choice of music and I have no problem wearing the brightest of bright fluorescent lycra clothing.

Please tell me I’m not the only one stuck in the early 90s......
