Thanks. Off course I should have never sold the Zaskar, still regretting it. But alas the Syncros Revo's broke, as did the Votec fork (I did get replacement GS4's, but those were even beefier and completely black, which didn't really fit the bike anymore) so that's not something to fuss over. I'm also very finicky about my hydraulic hoses. It's mostly not a problem, just tighten everything and then take the lever off the bike and rotate it so the hose is all right. Maybe some fine-tuning needed, but it should be possible to get the hose to sit nice.

I am also particular about the size of the covers and the cables (I don't like the ones that stick out too much or are very short).
But almost all the Magura rim brakes that I see are very ugly and I don't know if it's because they do it wrong or because it's a problem with the brake itself.
Yours are great, so I already have an incentive to purchase some in the future.

Well, the fork decals have already arrived. Since I had to make them new, I ordered them with the Noleen brand in the original red and also in blue more in conjunction with the frame.
While looking at a beautiful RST-1 months ago I realized the shock was Noleen. I knew it decades ago but it is a detail that I did not give importance to. So I thought if they used their shocks why wouldn't they use their forks?
And yes, we all associate the Noleen with the K2, but the Mega air was also an after market product, so anyone could buy it and put it on their bike.
Of the Mega Air I found a version that I didn't know, the "racing USA" and I thought it was the right one for GT, few brands have used the "stars and stripes" as much on their bikes as GT. And the "hand made in the USA" of the left stay gave me the livery of the bike
Additionally, the fork works correctly, without leaks.I found the manual and I was surprised that it works with very little pressure, about 55 PSI
The tube has a length of 215 mm. I usually use about 185 mm.
Tomorrow I will trim it to size also depending on the stem.
The weight includes the spider inside the tube, it is quite light, surprising.

For the quickrelease I saw an image of the seat closure of a GT and I saw that it was very similar to the Odissey and I remembered that I had saved some very similar, unused ones from Hugi.
When I weighed them I saw that the front and rear were almost the same weight, so I used the caliper and indeed the front closure was for a suspension fork, thicker, 5.2 mm. and the rear 4.7 mm.
Unfortunately it doesn't fit the axle of my wheel, so I looked for another alternative, some Kore Elite.
I liked the Hugi better because they show more of the wheel hubs, but the Kore fit well and are one of my favorite quickreleases (after the Hope, Salsa and Tune)

I have decided to use Ritchey ZED 1.9 Pro tires instead of the Ritchey Z-Max tires.
I like the blue band for this bike. I really prefer them in solid black, but this time I think some color is more appropriate. In any case I can change it easily
I have decided to continue with the Cassette with an M 960, but in 11-32 instead of the 11-34 (I think that one will go to another project with a double chainring, the 34 is more suitable there). I changed the lock ring from XTR to a Dura Ace one, it is silver and the other gray.
Also for the derailleur I have decided to put a 960 at the end instead of the 952, it is also more silver

Well, I was looking for "curious" things like Hershey Racing cranks and well, it's hard to find them.
But I found some aluminum Hershey screws and thought "you'll never see this again." In addition, the shipping was cheap, which offset the price of the screws. Someday someone will explain to me the cost differences in Ebay shipping, it is a real mystery.
I was thinking of putting in some PMP titanium screws that I had lying around, but I don't like using titanium screws with titanium threads or nuts. Not even using Finish Line Ti Prep anti-seizing So the aluminum ones are a better option.
I was thinking of putting GT headset cap, since I don't like the Ringle cap very much, but I already spent too much on the screws and €25 or €30 for a cover already seems silly to me.
Furthermore, in the end the Slamma Jamma headset cap would end up in a jar with two hundred others. I have decided to personalize it by matching the Hershey screws
I took it to the laser and Wow! It must have been perfect (thank goodness, I only had one try)

Well, the seat post I wanted has now appeared. It is in very good condition. According to the seller, when he bought it, the decals did not come on, he doesn't know why and he put them on. They are not at the right distance but they are the originals!! So I'm not going to touch them, better a poorly placed original decal than one that "replicates" in its place, or at least that's my way of thinking. Also this way it is more original.
The pedals are about Ounce, mostly because I bought them years ago and never saw where to put them. I love them in black and since the original elastomers were very dirty, taking advantage of the fact that I had the replacement I changed them. From what it seems, the transparent ones are soft, the gray ones medium/soft, the blue ones medium/hard and the black ones hard.
I have placed them blue not for technical reasons but because I think they look pretty with the bike and I love them with the black background
And well, I wanted to finish it when I received a couple of things that I'm missing: the bottle cage (and the bottle cage screws) and a decoration for the handlebar plugs that I ordered from UV DTF, but it's taking a long time to arrive, I don't know why. .
And I haven't realized that in 5 days it's July 11th. I built the bike with this livery as a tribute to the GT decorations on their frames for the USA team, NOT as a tribute to 4/11.
So I present it now

I cleaned it a little quickly, placing the cables always leaves traces of oil and grease. But I prefer to present the GT now
When I get the bottle cage (a classic Blackburn, simple, effective and with the beauty of simplicity) I will take a cleaner photo.
That said, I was inspired by the "hand made in the USA" decal and the GT frames with the stars and stripes.
The truth is that the original Ringle cap of headset engraved with the USA flag looks better than I thought. And along the way I take advantage of a piece that I didn't like too much. I will possibly repeat.
