I work my width out by putting my arms out in front of me to the most natural relaxed position, just a bit wider than my shoulders, if i move them out or in more than that it feels like i am having to force my arms to that position, if you know what i mean

Always liked bikes with twin top tubes, from back in bmx days. And some of the features really add to it overall, the forks like you said and i think the quirky stem really goes well.
And everyone i know who rode 800mm bars all cut them down to a comfortable size
Read an interesting article about bar width and how to work out your ideal width, this is the calculation:
For men, bar width Sweet Spot = height in mm x 0.440
For women, bar width Sweet Spot = height in mm x 0.426
My sweet spot width works out at 790.68mm... so I’ll give the wide bars a try, after all it’s not like I’ll be taking it to Fort William!

Last little bit of fun for the build arrived in the post today, some nice dice!
They're neatly made as they are properly drilled and tapped for the presta valve, no glued in valve caps in these ones!
Saddle height set properly and the cables were trimmed down too, so all neat and tidy now!
Have just been for a spin round the block and it's very comfy, a little more upright position, and the bars don't feel wide at all which is a surprise considering they're 100mm wider than I was using!

The Scrambler frame is boost spacing, the hubs are boost @ 110mm and 148mm, yet the rear axle I need is listed as 142mm.....
It's the axle length and thread pitch that's important, and the 12mm rear is 171mm long which I managed to match up after doing lots of homework!
The front 15mm axle only measures 135mm however.... and the closest I can get is 142mm, so I'll need to find a 7mm spacer for that to work. :facepalm:
