I had a visit from scum last night boke into my garage a took my Kona Dawg 09 and my sons Trek 8500 2010 model they left 3 retro bikes behind including my 97 XTR specced Explosif but for some reason they took a 27mm blue ringle moby post and Marin saddle the only reason I can think I was taargeted was the cycle rack on my car roof.Just really pi££ed off today

Bad news. Awful feeling too.
Sounds like it was probably a two man job. Be careful though as they may try another break in again for the remaining bikes.

All the best.

Gutted for you and your son ! Its happened to me quite a few times and i never saw the bikes again unfortunately. Its an angry and horrible feeling.

Not wanting to scare you but I would be 85% sure they will be back round tonight. I had a similar thing a few years back and thought they came back the night after for more stuff. Then I thought I was ok but they came back the night after too! They don't think the same as us and sometimes they have an advantage because of this.

Agree with the above; they might pay you a repeat visit.
Sit on your porch, Hunter S. Thompson style, with a bottle of bourbon and a box of cartridges.

Theres nothing worth taking in there now its all moved to safety.Funny thing is the Dawg was without pedals and the Trek is a 6500 with a warranty 8500 frame so its unique, also the seatpost was not fitted to the Trek so they pinched a 27mm Blue Ringle from my Marin and must have slotted it in the larger diameter seat tube of the Trek. They must have had a van nearby bacause they couldnt have ridden them far in the condition.Still no-ones hurt just hope it was a random job (which does look likely),and I still have my Explosif and my wife her P7

Really sorry to read this Paul, there is certainly some scum on the loose in this country. Glad to read your seeing the bigger picture though, as you say no one was hurt. I'll keep an eye out for the bikes, but most likely they are miles away by now.

Worth looking around locally = my son found someone riding his bike around locally some months after it was nicked and got it back! Didn't expect it but there you are!

Its murder round here buddy, I live just off Regent road in Morecambe, and I've been burgled twice in 10yrs.
Will keep my eyes peeled for the kona and the trek.

Worth doing a scout around the local Cash Convertor type shops next week.

Sounds like they were local and not a team with a van visiting from Liverpool or Manchester (apologies to scousers and mancs reading this)
