STOLEN from MORECAMBE LAST NIGHT

Good old Morecambe, nothing changes! Have the Police sent over a scene of crime person to take prints? I know it sounds daft but a lot of crims don't bother covering their traces.
Also have you gone on Ebay to see if they are there yet?

You could also put up posters saying what's been stolen. I don't neccesarily mean "Reward for safe return" type stuff I just mean something that states what's missing, you don't even need your name and address it's just a way of letting people know that they may be being offered "hot items". It's make them difficult to fence locally. So they may just dump them somewhere unobtrusive to get rid of them. It's a long shot but once your posters have been up a few days have a look in the bike racks at Lancaster station, or even on the University campus

Finally have you thought about putting frame numbers and stuff on Retrobike so the rest of us can keep our eyes out for them?

And another thought. Have a trip round all the local bikeshops and speak to the staff, if the tea-leafs aren't Mensa members they might try and trade them in at a bike shop. I like to think the shop wouldn't deal with them anyway without them having i.d and accepting a cheque instead of cash but if the shops knew what to look for the crims would be walking straight into a trap...

Yes SOCA have been round but found nothing looks like they just got lucky as people across the road were also targetted but nopthing taken maybe I need a terrier instead of a soft pair of labradors

Hi There, sorry to hear about the theft. Do you have any pics of what was taken? I am always looking on Ebay and Gumtree so will keep my eyes open but not sure what you had taken, colours etc.

Hope you get them back.

Its murder round here buddy, I live just off Regent road in Morecambe, and I've been burgled twice in 10yrs.
Will keep my eyes peeled for the kona and the trek.

luxury... our street is one of the most burgled in allegedly the most burgled postcode in the UK (Chorlton-cum-Hardy, M21) scared me when I read that in the Guardian last week!

I have kept an eye on eBay and seen friend's bikes turn up on eBay and Gumtree though, were you insured steelhardtailer?

re theft

Sorry to hear of your loss, know how you feel.Had my LAVA DOME stolen from my garage 5/6 years ago but about 18 months later the verminous scum went past the garage just as I coming out ..........revenge was sweet.
I know 2 wrongs do not make a right but it certainly made me feel good.

Bike 1 was a 17" 2009 Kona Dawg bog standard
Bike 2 the Trek is the one Im holding a little hope for.
18" 2010 8500 frame in white/red/black. But with full 6500 running gear.SLX cranks XT shadow mech the rest Deore, with bonty rims on deore hubs discs etc.Originally blue and white the rock shox recon forks have red stickers placed over the originals. Also no seat post or saddle so could be fitted with a cheapo one.

Ive been round to my local bike shop and Halfords to report the above. One was very helpful taking written details and promised to pass it on to the staff, and asked the post diameter incase someone tried to buy one.the other gave the impression of cant be bothered and I had to prompt him to report it to the police if they had anyone suspicious.

Guess my money would go on a Boardman rather than a Trek next time. The Halfords lad was very helpful.
