Just to say, to actually have £10k coming in 'next month' you'd need to be earning over £200k, that's only working on Tax and NI, ignoring any (really nice) pensions etc.

100K 'take home' is probably about 5k a month real take home.
That 1.5k a month mortgage/rent, the £500 for the tesla and the other £900 for the RR SUV to take the kids to school in doesn't leave them much to buy food and the 1k school fees...

@FluffyChicken yes you're right in regards to my maths, should have thought about it a bit more, based on the bills this particular person was moaning about, he must be on £10,000 in his hand a month, he was in the local brewery telling us what his mortgage, child payment etc was and was upset that he "didn't have any money" and had still spent almost £4000 on 2 bikes, all inside a 4 week period. cry me bloody river.

Still £2k but much more realistic price wise. Interesting drop outs to allow a Gates belt.

The Moots potential buyer is definitely living in a different world.

While we are straying a bit off-topic, and I do get what you are saying, you must know for sure Moots have always punched high. The re-sell value of a Moots compared to much else is worth considering in the value equation. Day in and day out riding on the Moots over several years and then re-selling would I think beat the Swan. The Swan is very nice, but I bet my bottom dollar it won't hold it's value like the Moots.

Yeah, for MTB Moots has had a strong name / following. This article from 2021 is interesting. 60% of what they sell is gravel and <2,000 frames a year.

I wonder how they feel about the current climate? Maybe Moots customers are not like those that drop $10k on a road bike only for it to be passe 18 months later. As in, the rider really wants a Moots, not just something bling and therefore, they’ll get through a downturn on brand loyalty?

Maybe but you can buy the Swan, and keep 8K in the bank. Even if you sell the Swan for 50% off, you walk away with 9K.

Worth bearing in mind that no Moots has sold for more than a couple of grand on eBay recently (ie 50-80% depreciation).
