Square Crank Spindles

Could anyone tell me the best way to put the crank arms back on the square crank spindles?

I removed them, but they dont slide on easily & don't want to do anything stupid and damage things

Cheers

Push them on using the crank bolts you undid to take them off. Usually an 8mm allen key does the job and give it plenty of beans.

Its the bolts that you took off are what you now use to press them back on

and give it plenty of beans

Give it a bit of Welly ;)

Not too much welly as you don't want to pull the arm further up the taper , nice and tight but don't keep cranking the allen key around . A dab of threadloc on the sides of the tapers and the bolt threads and it'll not come loose , the axle wont corrode and you won't get any creaking ( unless the creak actually comes from your pedals .)
