Speed holes

I have literally no clue where to start with this...!

I'm guessing they got to the seat stays and thought "nah, any holes here will be structurally unsound so I'll leave them alone"

Then added all that weight back on with dual octagonal inboard fake discs...

The “discs” are cooling fins for the coaster brake. I should have explained that this is a Coaster Brake Challenge bike, run in California about twice a year. They also run a downhill race where you can only spend $15 on a child’s 20 inch wheel bicycle, the only modification allowed is to fit a front brake. The videos of this is wild. It’s a long ride down the mountain on a paved highway. They’re all scrunched up. Looks terribly uncomfortable.
 
Just wanted to add a specific picture here, to show that drilling was very common in the nineties and that even anyhow lightweight Aluminium frames has been drilled by professionals.

Fred Schilplin was showing a drilled American bicycle manufacturing frame :oops: which was according to the statement in the text 20% lighter than before...
 
I like the madness of this. Love a bit of drillium and looks like it's been really well executed in terms of neatness/alignment of holes. Structurally it's no doubt compromised, but I'd still ride it! But then I've always been regarded as pretty stupid! 🤪🤣

That Porsche is both bonkers and beautiful. What a project. I either need a Lottery win (which I have never ever entered) or a time machine to allow me to mess about to the level of the Porsche man...
