This is an interesting vid on installing the Future Shock on a bike. I was surprised how little steerer is above the headset bearing and there are two bloody big slots in it and a drilled hole! Assembly begins around the 3.30m mark.

I guess because its not being clamped by the stem as normal it doesn't matter.. The lower part of the shock assembly presumably acts like a tall compression plug that pushes out on the inside of the steerer tube, mostly below the slotted section.
Well made video on setting up this system and interesting to see how they solved putting preload on the bearings.

It looks heavy! :p

Sounds intriguing! The design seems unique with minimal steerer above the headset bearing and those slots. Starting assembly at 3:30 in the video must be where the installation details really start to shine. I had a tight deadline for my case study and was feeling overwhelmed. That’s when I found https://academized.com/write-my-case-study Their service was a lifesaver. The writer was knowledgeable and delivered a high-quality case study well before the deadline. The support team was also very supportive and responsive. I highly recommend their service to anyone in need of help with case studies.
I have the Roubaix, Creo and Creo 2 with this system and with later bikes they did ship with a small spanner to adjust and hold the square barb that drops down, makes the adjustment much more simple. I also found Hambini do the bearings which have better grease and are cheaper than the ones Specialized sell. So far, they have lasted much longer that the Specialized ones.
