Specialized FSR Test Bike Frame ... Any info appreciated...

Hey, new to the forum, decided to get back into biking after a good few years away and wondered if anyone could help me out with some info on this frame I picked up for my build.
Its a Specialized FSR XC Test Bike Frame, with Manitou SX Forks, not sure what year, guesing around a 2000/2001 seems in really good nick, would be interesting to see what peoples thoughts are on value(to see if I payed reasonable price)
Wondered about the 'Test Bike' on the decals ? been told quite rare ??
Any info appreciated..

Hi Kev.

You will find that round here, some people like to pigeon hole the age of bikes into 2 distinct categories, namely Pre 1998 and Post 1998.

This is the <98 section. Having said that, as it has no disc mounts, and recalling my buddy at home having an early FSR with V's in 97/98, I would say that yours is just on the cusp.... however its true that most people in this section of the site will "glaze over" at this generation of FSR, with its modern-fangled suspension design and "not an elastomer?!!!!" shock absorber

You might find the boys in the >98 Section section a bit more receptive

Cheers for that guys , have now posted in >98 section now, really not sure on the year, could quite possibly be pre98..

A lot of the larger bike shops have "test bikes" for us potential purchasers to try before we buy, one of the lads had an early magura frame with the same test bike decals on it from leisure lakes bury,
still a very nice bike a friend has the same but yellow , Im rebuilding the frame(bearings) for him soon so will post some pics.
