However it would be good to see it repaired. And ridden once again!?

Have you asked trek if they will warrant the frame? If you are the first owner it may be worth a punt. I'm sure these carried a lifetime warranty.

I've only sold 3 mtbs in 20 years , now regretting every one . And they weren't half as nice as this one .This looks like a good frame to keep hold of .Give it some more thought before you let it go , never to be seen again
