SOLD 57cm George Longstaff Audax custom built frame

Here for sale is my beloved George Longstaff Audax, custom built frame.

A year on with this frame I've gone from only riding 200km to riding distances up to 1400km all around the UK.

It's is really a work of art, built by George Longstaff himself in 1998 before he passed away in 2003 of a heart attack whilst piloting a tandem. As much chrome as you can shake a stick at!

Some info gained from Longstaff after getting in touch with them earlier this year:

Well as it was frame/fork only I cant add much more. Looks like the frame is in original paintwork, built from 531 designer select tubing, ordered in 1998 for a customer in Kilmarnock . It is a custom so seat angle a bit steep at 76` otherwise pretty normal frame and fork for us . If you want the tube spec,
top is 0.8-0.5-0.8,
seat single butt, 0.8-0.5,
down tube 0.9-0.6-0.9

Seat tube CTC 57cm
Top tube 53cm
Rear dropout spacing (OLN) 130mm

Tyre clearance for 28c tyres with mudguards, without mudguards easily more.

Stronglight headset and seat tube clamp bolt included. No Bottom Bracket included.

The pictures of the frame are from quite a while ago, and whilst there are some more chips to the paintjob, it still is in great condition.

And for an extra £10 I can chuck in a Velo-Orange seat post which are just about the most laid back seat posts money can buy.

Using one of these will bring the top tube out to effectively ~56cm
