Ok, so this is something a little special and pretty rare - 1989 Cannondale M900 'Red Shred' Frame and Forks

1989 was arguably the last year of the 'vintage' Cannondales...or... the dawn of the new era of dales depending on your perspective. It saw the first introduction of the 3.0 series frames but still no replaceable dropouts.

The Red Shred was second to top of the range in that year and was equipped with Deore II (MT62) components.

The M900 frame design was the inspiration for the later 'Beast of the East' models with the higher bottom bracket. Although the frame only measures 16" c-c this is an 18" model

The Frame comes with 1" Cro-mo forks, original Tange falcon headset (you can still find these easily) and 1" Tioga T bone stem.

Condition - There is no denying that 20 odd years has taken its toll on the paintwork. Although top quality Dupont Imron, keeping the paint on these even when new was pretty difficult. There are multiple areas of aluminium oxidisation which has caused the paint to bubble. There is also quite a bit of paint loss on the forks. Structurally however the frame is in excellent shape and seems to have had little use.

Of course this would build into a perfectly usable classic however it is also the basis for a pretty easy restore. The paint colour is Viper Red (as in Dodge Viper) Code is 'LRN'. I also have the Dupont mix details if the purchaser wanted them. 89 correct decals can be had from Gil or Brian at Vintage Cannondale. Finally I can supply x3 new A/113 cable guides (no longer made) for £15 if the buyer needed them. Anyone who has tried to find these will know how hard they are to track down and also how cheap that is. Alternatives are also available from Shapeways produced by 3D Printing

I know of only 4 of these bikes on here and I own two of those. The last picture is of my other one for inspiration.

Price is paypal gift (or add 4% for fees) delivered in the UK

I am after £130 for the F&F, headset and stem .................try and find another ! :D
