Thanks for your comment M-Pwr...am relaying the advice that's been passed onto me. Cold setting could be tried , but I think the crucial point is for a frame builder with the alignment gear / jig to make the "metal moves"!!! As for the chain stay , good suggestion which could be considered at the time of restoration. My preference is keeping things as original as possible, so have kept the chain suck scratches protected from rusting with some clear varnish stuff. Good day for riding here!
