Built it and try it out, it might ride okay. If it does then paint it up and stick a sticker on it that says ONE-OFF-ON-ONE.

Or ON-ONE-OFF ;)

Had a good think about this and ended up voting 'smash'. Reason being it's your bike Si and you can do what you want with it.

Still think the booby prize idea could be a go'er though. ;)

Ignoring any badly thought out 'jump on the retro band wagon' marketing on the part of On One though it looks like a nice simple modern steel frame - except some berk welded some canti bosses on the seat stays that is - it shares as much with a Fat' as the first safety bicycle.

Agree with Manitou916 though Dr S - you are a bit damed if you do and damed if you don't though! (I hope you don't give a sh1t) :D

Pity there isn't a 'I don't give a sh1t' button really.......

Confused about this one. You hate the frame and all it stands for, you loathe the company that built it so to demonstrate this you decided to boost their income buy buying it from them.

Seems to me that the chaps at On-One have got the upper hand in this particular skirmish.

Saw down the middle of the seat tube and make saloon swing doors of the two halves. Or drill it and make a fun fountain, or finally use the front triangle as a sundial mast

I see little in the way of fat chance in that frame and it was always going to be a blatant marketing ploy that was doomed to failure as the people who remember them wouldn't buy an on-one and the people who buy on-one wouldn't know what Fat Chance is.. Give it a useful life, just not as a bike.

And don't sell it or give it to anyone, you bought it for a reason and you must fulfil that reason, but as someone said don't blame the brazed bike for brants bullshit!

.

So you think they made a big profit with their £77 sale then?

lets see, proto frame built up and paid for, hours of calls and emails, time spent designing and working out specs for tubing, cost of shipping from Taiwanese sweatshop, taxes, ebay fees, paypal fees etc etc... You still think they made a good profit on this??

Is that £77 a boost in income? You don't run a business do you?

I very much doubt they have got the upper hand at all. Having had simple car parts prototyped over the years i can tell you that they will have taken a big hit on this frame.

Si

I was wondering just how flat I could get it. Paint it, decal it and then run it flat in a press. Get it just a few mm thick. Hang it on the wall then in the garage.
