Anyhow surprised they've even decided to sell a prototype. Worked in the automotive industry in the past, all prototypes (even ones very close to mass production) were crushed.

There's a big difference between a car proto and a frame proto, though. One is very, very complicated with lots of presumably one-off bits that could go wrong, the other is really just a bunch of tubes welded together. Especially this kind of thing - it's more of a sample than a proto, really. There's nothing untested in it, anyway.

I'd prefer it was built and used. Someone out there will love this frame and cherish it, in the same uneducated bliss as I once did with Raleigh Mustangs and heavyweight alpinestars cro-megas. Why not raffle it off or give it away as a prize, but please lets not destroy a perfectly servicable frame.

How about building it up into the most rancid bike possible and then using it as a booby prize to be riden at retro rides by whoever deserves it (the idea might need a bit of work )

I'll gladly donate some bits.

Especially with the announcement of the retro series Perhaps a booby prize for worst hangover or turning up with he most modern bike ?
