So they're bullying, by saying what's wrong etc, to try get a better price?I mean when they want to buy from you and run you down.
I have to admit I accidentally did this at a car boot sale recently, there was a box of spanners and I asked the seller how much he was asking for the cheap spanners (meaning there were some nicer quality ones in there). He took a bit of offence to it, but in my head I was just meaning to distinguish from the better ones. I wanted something shit to cut up and weld for a job, and the naff ones are what was needed as thinner. So they're bullying, by saying what's wrong etc, to try get a better price?
File under:No offence intended, I genuinely respect all of you, but
Sounds an awful lot like a forum I'm now (thankfully, saved me a job) banned from......online community associated with another hobby of mine. The main moderator had very strong opinions about a range of topics, and appeared to be an expert in anything and everything. Further, much of the rest of the community were basically middle aged blokes with a variety of mental illnesses....
I've been reading through this thread and when you mentioned this I had to comment. It's a psychological trick (which they might not be aware of actually, but just know it has worked in the past) to get an individual to part with something by making them feel that they are somehow less deserving of it's ownership in some way. Unless you need to sell, walk right away, would be my humble suggestion. It's a trick and they are desperate.I mean when they want to buy from you and run you down.
