That looks just like mine  Did they take a bone graft from your hip?

fibble-Recovery time all depends on how bad the brake is :(

Hope you manage to get back riding soon.

I'm suprised some in here didn't try and dibs the parts

It's on the keychain of my Rallye Golf. The shorter one is the one out of my wrist. Funny story about that one. The doc was standing beside my bed with it when I woke up after they took it out. He said "this was straight when I put it in your arm, and there was signs of another break". Um, I did crash at Moto Park last season. It hurt, but I didn't think much of it cause it wasn't flopping around. IIRC I got facepalmed.

i did mine while at Uni (about 7 years ago), pure rest for about 1/2 weeks, then started to exercise it. about 6 weeks in total, but it still aches a little if i sleep on my side - it calcified a little larger, so it sticks out like one of those little climbing holds :p apparently it grows back stronger though....not willing to test that theory out mind...

this was also the first time i truly appreciated the medicinal benefits of one of natures natural pain killers - i don't think i would have slept otherwise.

I broke mine last may 2010. A&E and Docs basically said "Chin up". I had a floating piece and was unhappy with the treatment and learned of a specialist at the fracture clinic there in a week. He took one look and I was under the knife a few days later. The bone was pinned and plated and inportantly the shoulder socket was re aligned. This is a risk for the sling approach.

The metal work was giving some discomfort so it was removed last week.

The real important think is the prognosis for full shoulder movement once the bone has healed. I would strongly advocate getting a clavicle fixation if you can.

I had an epic sneezing fit this morning accompanied by some cracks and a fair bit of pain. I reckon I could be back to square 1

Think of your collar bones in the same context as a sacrificial bolt; the injuries you would suffer without them would most likely kill you...

...in the meantime, full strength after 5-6 weeks is average; normal activity with some discomfort after 7-10 days.
