Im a 34" leg and i think thats over done.Whats the frame size ?

With a hardtail frame, your concern would be justified as the forces would be magnified by the long seat post and put a large amount of strain on both the bottom of the seat post and nearby cluster of frame tubes. But here most of these large and destructive "dynamic forces" are absorbed by the rear suspension shock. The shock will absorb the force over half a second or so. this doesn't sound long but the force measured at any instant will be a minute fraction of that of the violent sudden loading on a hardtail.

One solution with a hardtail is to use a Thudbuster, parallelogram style, suspension seatpost like the one fitted to the Highpath. These are suitably long and work far better than standard suspension posts as the direction of the highest forces is usually between the the riders center of mass and the rear wheel's axle and not bottom bracket' axle.

The two NRS bikes shown here have 16.5" and 18.5" frames.

Kona Humu cruiser? The look suits several styles & Kona did them as beach cruisers, BMX, MTB etc. over the years.

Two of mine have BMX cruiser bars: 4-inch Profile and 5.75-inch S&M Race.

Or bring the bars back, closer to your body, rather than raised up?
Nitto Albatross etc.- like my Dutch pub-bike - but that VERY upright position does make the steering very light and all your weight is on the saddle.

Hi velo I have am adjustable stem if you want to give that a try?
its a quill & an 1" if its any use pm me your postal address & I'll pop it in the post. Other than that I have a sharp saw  maybe take 8-12" off your legs

see ya soon mate ;)

Thanks for the stem offer Kaya but with my considerable junk resources and access to Edinburghs Bikestation I can cheaply explore all my maddest bike tinkering ideas

As for seeing me soon, not likely, cant go to Thrunton, I have to go to a wedding, well actually want to go to wedding of a very good friend.....sorry ;)

Could you just not put a 29" front wheel and forks onto one of your bikes and fiddle with the stem lenght to regain a bit of handling. :?

Would look odd I admit
