I’m not sure how much discussion, if any, there has been about this year’s Brighton Big Dog? Well, this year they’ve dropped the Retro Bike category….
Of the ‘Odd ball’ categorises remaining, there is only the Single Speed. I kind of feel I need to represent Retro Bike at the Big Dog this year, so I thought I’d enter the single speed cat on a retro. The best part of all, it gives me an excuse to get another bike!
Long story, short, I bought this Sentesi Thruster on Ebay, which seemed like a decent enough bike for the job. The thing is, I’d never heard of Sentesi before I bought this and there is very little information online. I believe this is a 94-95 bike?
I’m hoping for some information as I build it up for this year’s race. First of all I need a bottom bracket. I’ve measured width (68mm) and diameter (34mm) but I’m not sure what to do next. I’ve some spare square taper cranks kicking about, but don’t know which BB to go and buy. On Chain Reaction they have a multitude of BBs, some of which have ‘Italian’ threads? As this is an Italian frame, would I need this kind of thread?
I should probably add that it came with those forks but no heradset, I'm in two minds about the forks. Keep or ditch?
